Procedure and Fees

Through an initial consultation with each client, in person or by phone, we establish a portrait commission agreement. It is my preference to photograph the subject, working closely with the family to ensure that we select the image that best represents the desired mood and spirit of the subject. There are times, however, when distance or other circumstances do not allow me to photograph. In these cases, I can work directly from a photograph as long as it has sufficient light and detail and does not violate any copyright agreements.

A retainer of 50% of the total commission is due once the portrait agreement has been established. The balance is due at the time the portrait is completed. Once the portrait has begun, delivery can be expected within four weeks. I will work with each client throughout the process to ensure complete satisfaction. References are available upon request.

Commission fee structure: Starts at $1500. Travel, framing, shipping and sales tax are additional.
